| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2007 Sampled at the brewpub on 6/25/07: Pours a dark amber copper with a frothy, clingy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of toasty grainy caramel malt and a hint of piny hops. Body starts with a fairly full and caramely sweetness along with some bittering earthy hop notes and peat, toward a bittersweet balanced finish. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Good looking beer. The body’s a deep amber with ruby highlights and it sports a thick & creamy khaki head. The aroma contains fruity, juicy malts with some fresh toast. Caramel and more fruits are present in the flavor along with a mild spiciness. A touch of earthy bitterness mellows the drink out, making it a decent, sessionable ale.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2002 This was first marketed as a Ockoberfert Ale. I see they now sell it as an amber export style scotch ale. I do like truth in advertising. Malty, yes. Slightly fruity, yes. Caramel and toffee sweetness, yes. I touch cloying, yes. This is unique as there are german hops used in an ale, but too sweet and not bitter enough for a alt. No style, categorically speaking, but a decent session ale. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Darkish amber, clear, fairly light in both color and body for the style. Very light tobacco-caramel malt nose. Smooth, dusty and woody, mostly quite sweet, reasonably full. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2005 Dark copper body that is more clear and pretty the picture of the pint glass shows. There are only traces of a head on top. The aroma is darkly roasted walnuts with some bread crust. There is also some old tobacco and a hint of orange peels. The taste has some light grapefruit peels and roasted almonds. There is also some toffee and tobacco. A well made amber. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2008 Last beer sampled at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. (hick!) From draught, pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some grassy and citrus zest hops, a touch of fruity apples and some light spice. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors or rich caramel malt, some grassy hops with a touch of fruity pear/apple character. Finish is semi-sweet, some mild hoppiness that quickly disappears. A pretty decent session amber ale if I can get it here in Minnesota.
