Minhas Simpler Times Pilsner

12 oz. canfrom Trader Joe’s. Pours a fluffy off white head, of good duration, with some lacing, over a slightly hazy dark yellow (SRM 5) body......nose is corn, cereal, bit of grass....taste is very light malt to start, with a fairly minimal hop finish.....mouth feel is light and tends towards watery, carbonation make it soda like. This would be a fairly typical Pale Lager, but it is an incredibly light Pilsner, with minimal malt or hop character.

Can from Trader Joes, who might just have the worst beer selection in the entire world. Pours a clear dark pissy yellow without even much of the white head associated with such beers. Smells a bit grassy and straw-like along with the usual lager fuel and cornbread. Flavors are clean enough, a bit grassy, and somewhat sweet. Nothing too off or adjuncty to speak of. Body is pretty full feeling, the alcohol peaks through since the flavors are not very bold. Not really all that bad though. People that give this a .5 have clearly not had too many pale lagers, because there’s a hell of a lot worse ones than this. And to that, I say...Get your damn head out of your ass, fools.

Bottle shared by maniac. pours a pale light yellow with fair white head and sticky lacing. Nose is about the same as the lager, but a little more butter and a little less corny, and a good bit of vegetal. Flavor better, a bit grassy, and with a nice light saazy finish. Body is smooth and fuller than the lager. Not horrible, but definitely a pass.

this stuff tastes pretty bad. maybe worse tasting than the "simple tim" lager. only thing it does better than the lager is maybe the body not being so heavy and buttery. This stuff has a real skunky kick to it. I think I like the "Red Oval" better. most likely wont buy this one again, but then again... it is cheaper than water. maybe if I’m thirsty and can’t afford water. burp

Can. Awful. Skunky and just plain nasty. Not really any redeeming qualities.

Oh, wow. Yeah, not much good here. Great chance to pull out my Pilsener glass, and I’ll give it a good nod for lacing - as good as appearance gets for a Pils. Scent is pretty astringent, and not much more. I’m struggling to find something good to find, but I’m having trouble. Flavor? It’s not...bad, it’s just not...good? I want to say "just another fizzy yellow beer," but it doesn’t even measure up to that. It has more flavor than Bud without the excessive carbonation, but the flavor isn’t that much better. This is thoroughly a "meh" beer.

12 oz can shared by Ryan H. Pours a clear light golden with a thin white head. Nose is terrible, nothing good to say about it. Flavors are very much rice and corn water. There is a slight hop tone on one sip I think. Ryan is a UM grad so I guess I should not of expected more then some wolverine piss! It was better then a macro though!
