| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 5, 2006 Bottle thanks to RLB mislabeled as an imperial stout. When tasting, we were all scratching our heads. There is no way this is an impy stout, but know my noted make sense. Clear dark amber with a small off white head. Piney hop aroma with some wet straw and biscuit malt. Mildly sweet biscuity malt flavor with some pine and citrus hops. A much better IPA than RIS. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Thanks to Richlikebeer for providing this at the January gathering. Poured a clear brownish amber with an off-white head. Aroma is of straight-forward grassy hops, sort of pilsener-like. Taste is of some sweet malt, a bit of corn, and more grassy hops. Medium bodied for style. Bottle mislabeled as a RIS, and although it made a lousy RIS, it’s a half-decent IPA. BBB63 (4229), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2006 From a bottle and served in my NB worthy glass: Clean deep brown hue with a small but lasting frothy head and left some lace. The aroma is juicy and fruity hops, light pepper, honey, and bready sweet malts. The taste starts with a twangy lemon and grapefruit overtone followed by some piney and herbal notes. Light malty background added a touch of balance. Medium-bodied that is smooth and easy to drink, light astrengent finish. A solid brew and quaffable. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2005 18 lbs. of fresh hops from the garden were used. This is highly piney, with a bit less body than expected. Less astringent and lemony/grapefruity than others.
