Pours a transparent golden orange with an insiginificant white head. Quick initial apricot sweetness with a balanced Chinook hop finish. Really doesn’t come across as big as 8% nor does the flavor remind me of an IIPA. temporrari (327), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

Astringent, chinook bitter flavor. More malts than you’d expect though in the taste. Not very well balanced or pleasant. Watery palate. tjthresh (1778), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

To look at this thing, I was not going to be disappointed. The the first whiff. Next to nothing. Then a drink. It tasted just like the rest of Mishawaka’s IPAs. Pretty much water thin. Imperial my ass. Ughsmash (4060), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Clear orange/amber pour with a solid 1/2" of off-white head. Nice intricate lacing as it went down. Aroma was of pine, grapefruit, and caramel. Flavor started out surprisingly sweet, with the Chinook hops and some alcohol following. Mouthfeel and finish were both sticky sweet. Nice floral hop presence on the finish. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA

Growler from the tap on the day of the release:
Pours a clean amber hue with a fading frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of bready and carmel malts, light Chinook hop, faint strawberry and grapefruit, earthy esters, cane sugar and noticeable phenols. The taste starts overly sweet for style with a fruity background. The bitterness is more acute as it warms but then so is the alcohol. The flavors never seem to pop like they did in the Hop Head. The feel is a tad sticky and oily with a warming finish. I hoped for more from this brew, alas it finished short and muddled. I guess I will wait for the next batch of Hop Head.
