Finally settled down to a dark black, with red edges, and a tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, coffee grounds, and caramel. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, and light roast. LIke some of the other ratings I see, this one ended on a sour and tart finish (detracting from the tastes). Thinner body. Oakes (8101), gone rambling, Cambodia

Fruity flavour with a fair bit of roast and a tart, dry finish. Quite a bold, if unrefined, example. bu11zeye (5545), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Bottle. Decent strong prteresqe nose. Small ring of bubblers. Taste-butter coffee, soil, bitter hops, good amount of coffee, cigarette ash, light fruity esters. What I envision Al’s Diner would taste like if you could make it into a liquid form. shrubber85 (2934), Wallhalben, Germany
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2005 Bottle. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Opaque brown-black with slight head - very pretty. Rich complex flavor - get an initial flavor of dark chocolate-coffee that changes to a rich creamy caramel flavor and is finished with a nice hops that is nicely balanced. A nicely made stout - tasty, well balanced flavors. Draught purists may not like the slight carbonation.
