Tastes of citrus (I was getting orange peels) and caramel. Had a light sour finish. hopscotch (5543), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Mid-sized, fizzy, khaki head. The nose is of caramel and hay. English toffee, milk chocolate and vanilla all wrapped up in a horse blanket.
The flavor is malty, creamy and caramel-laden up front. Woodsy and... well, it tastes like a brewery smells... malted barley mash and kettle steam!
Medium-bodied with a very creamy mouthfeel and feather-soft carbonation. A great, world-class ale! Underrated, I think.

Aroma of piny English hops and some grainy toasted malt. Starts semi-sweet and fairly full bodied with a good amount of bittering hops toward a drier, bittersweet finish. Pretty drinkable and true to style. Cletus (5059), Connecticut, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2007 Drinking from a bottle of Four Horsemen Irish Style Red Ale: This pours a deep caramel/amber body and has a bubbly ecru head. The aroma is bready and has some caramel sweetness along with a dash of earthy bitterness. It has some tropical fruit (?) in the flavor along with bready malt and apples. An herbal/earthy/piney bitterness begins building up midway to balance it all out. It finishes on an earthy bitter note. One of the better brews that I’ve had from Mishawaka.
