Vibrant orangey dark amber. Heavy caramel aroma, with vague nuts and brown bread crust. Long earth and caramel notes in the palate. Sweet toffee and toast in the finish.

12oz bottle acquired in trade. Poured a medium orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, earthy, citrus and I was getting almost a pepperiness out of it. Tastes of citrus (I was getting orange peels) and caramel. Had a light sour finish.

Bottle... RBSG2003... This beer rocks!... Crystal clear, deep amber brew. Mid-sized, fizzy, khaki head. The nose is of caramel and hay. English toffee, milk chocolate and vanilla all wrapped up in a horse blanket. The flavor is malty, creamy and caramel-laden up front. Woodsy and... well, it tastes like a brewery smells... malted barley mash and kettle steam! Medium-bodied with a very creamy mouthfeel and feather-soft carbonation. A great, world-class ale! Underrated, I think.

12oz bottle straight from the brewery: Pours a transparent amber copper with a small froth of light tan head. Aroma of piny English hops and some grainy toasted malt. Starts semi-sweet and fairly full bodied with a good amount of bittering hops toward a drier, bittersweet finish. Pretty drinkable and true to style.

Drinking from a bottle of Four Horsemen Irish Style Red Ale: This pours a deep caramel/amber body and has a bubbly ecru head. The aroma is bready and has some caramel sweetness along with a dash of earthy bitterness. It has some tropical fruit (?) in the flavor along with bready malt and apples. An herbal/earthy/piney bitterness begins building up midway to balance it all out. It finishes on an earthy bitter note. One of the better brews that I’ve had from Mishawaka.

Draft sampler at MBC. Dark amber color with a moderate white head that diminished quickly. Moderate roasted malt aroma. Medium body. Well balanced malt and citrus flavor with medium bitter finish.
