An old favorite. Simply put, one of the most refreshing beers I have ever tasted. Full of character. All of their beers are pieces of art. The variation between their beer line’s taste and quality is also more pronounced than Bells.

Yeah, I’ll call it an EPA, but has elements of ESBness. Malting is quite heavy, reminiscent of a good vienna, but is suitably cut by nice earthy hops. Very crisp and clean and very good. An amazing little surprise from my 24-hr nostalgia tour of the old stomping grounds, visiting my Dad in South Bend.

Bottle... RBSG2003... This beer rocks!... Crystal clear, deep amber brew. Mid-sized, fizzy, khaki head. The nose is of caramel and hay. English toffee, milk chocolate and vanilla all wrapped up in a horse blanket. The flavor is malty, creamy and caramel-laden up front. Woodsy and... well, it tastes like a brewery smells... malted barley mash and kettle steam! Medium-bodied with a very creamy mouthfeel and feather-soft carbonation. A great, world-class ale! Underrated, I think.

I wouldn’t peg this as an EPA or an ESB, but it definitely takes on characteristics of both. Has a startling amount of cookie-sweet malt, and yet is well balanced. I prefer the draft version to the 22 oz bottles, which always seems fresher, with more develeped malt character. May be the best beer available on tap in South Bend.

Tap. Slightly sweet butterscotch malt aroma. Reddish brown with small head. Slightly sweet butterscotch malt flavor - just enough for a full flavor not not too much. Butterscotch becomes more apparent as it warms. Very nice, easy drinking beer

Thanks to BigBadBear63 for the bomber of 4 Horsemen he sent me, You are a BigBadAss!
WoW what a marvelous looking brew! The deepest hues of burgundy radiate from the glass, as a throng of a cream tinted head begins to settle, it will take several minutes for this rocky avalanche to retreat.
The aroma is a splendid cornucopia of sweet malts and dark pit fruits. Plums, plums, more luscious ripened plums, Apricots, caramel, loads of malts, that bring an insane sweetness, some notes of chocolate, and orange blossoms.
But mournfully the flavor is not amply complex, I just don’t see how this can happen. Truth be told though, it is still wonderful; I even find notes of a smoky cinder hiding in between the fruitiness. The palate is a bit liquid for what I was expecting, but Really, Seriously, come to you senses man; This is a great treat, Thanks again Mike!

Well I'm finally getting around to rating this...Amber hue, small rocky white head and some lace, medium-bodied. Caramel, grassy, chocolate, and nutty aroma. Well balanced with a nice sweet nutty undertone. Creamy and slighty dry mouthfeel. Hint of alcohol on the finish. A very good Irish Ale (from the land of the ND Fighting Irish)

Dark amber coloring with a very small head. The aroma is very malty with grass and some fresh cut wood. Pleasant spring time aroma. The taste starts out like toast with a sugary syrup backing it up. The finish is dry and oaky. This is a nice smooth, session style ale. Thanks BBB63.
