BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jan 30, 2005 From Growler: Pours a deep brown hue with noticeable ruby highlights topped by a small but lasting frothy tan head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of mocha, vanilla, flaked oats, toasted barley, light prune, aromatic hops, and dusty yeast esters. The taste starts with a nice bittersweet balance, not to sweet with a bite of acidic fruits and mild bitters. You taste the oat and chocolate in this one for sure. The finish is surprisingly dry and has the same mild bitters lingering for quite a bit. The feel is fizzy and yet smooth, enough body all told. Overall more than a quaffable effort and very much enjoyable. A worthy companion to the Dry Founders Stout. On tap only at brewery.
