Pours a lightly effervescent transparent amber bronze with a small, clingy-lacing airy white head. Aroma of toasty, earthy, peppery hops and some grainy pale malt. Body starts with some light toasted caramel malty sweetness and good bittering hop balance toward a resiny, drier bittersweet lingering finish. A good to average IPA.

bottle - Pours hazy copper with a thin head. It has a good citrus hops aroma along with some doughy malt and... what is that lurking in the background? Dirty socks? I guess the nice way to put it is "earthy", but I’m not a fan of that smell. The taste is very hoppy and it’s good hops, at least in the flavor. The bitter finish seems a little off though. I know it sounds really bad, especially the dirt in the aroma, but it was an okay beer. I can definitely do better for an IPA though.

7/12/2007: After the cap nearly blew off the bottle, I filled three glasses with nothing but foam. After quite some time, the beer began to settle and appeared to be a murky orange. It still had a MASSIVE beige head that was foamy, puffy, and rocky. What was really strange were all the black specks through out the head and there was also a ton of crap in the beer itself! Needless to say, the head produced some prolific lacing on the glass and never fully dissipated. Pine citrus hops made up the majority of the aroma and wasn’t too bad. The flavor, however, was really weird and disconnected. It had a nasty hop flavor and bitterness. The citrus hops opened up and some toffee malt came through towards the finish as well as some dryness and more misplaced bitterness. The body of this beer was medium-light to medium and way too carbonated! Hop Head was not a very good experience in any way!

INFECTED 12 fl. oz. bottle bomb from illinismitty. Thanks for the mess Sean! Rating #41 for this beer...

Nice golden color with frothy head. Just big hop similar to many of todays overpowering hop ales. But it is just short of to much therefor no bad at all.

Bottle. Doesnt live up to its name, not much hop flavor, it does have a slight bitterness. There is a slight coffee flavor, followed by a metallic finish.

Decent hop finish. Slightly odd after taste. Still, not bad for an Indiana beer. Who knew?

I liked the bitter flavor of this beer, it was strong but not overpowering. Kind of a metalic finish to the beer. Nice creamy mouthfeel.

Pours a hazy straw color with a finger and a half head that decent retention. Aroma is bready malts and earthy piney hops. Taste is very sharp bitterness with a very earthy/dirty taste. Not pleasant to me. I didn’t pick up nearly enough of the sweet citrus or warming pine to offset the bitterness. Body is a little on the watery side. I had to struggle to finish one.
