Aroma is rather hoppy, some minor citrus. Mouth feel is moderate. Flavor is mildly sour with a major bitterness toward the back of the mouth. Some level of citrus in there. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 24, 2007 bottle - Pours yellow with a big head. It smells of pale malt and light hops. Large quantities of hops? That’s what the commercial description says and I’m not getting it. The hops are present, but pretty mild here. It’s light bodied and probably an okay session brew on tap, but unfortunately there was a bit of sourness like infection in my bottle. It wasn’t as bad on that score as the founder’s stout I had recently, but it was still there. Unfortunate. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 21, 2007 Appearance: Pours a golden body with a fine, puffy white head.
Smell: Fairly weak aroma of pale malts and citrus.
Taste: Weak, lacking pale malt flavor dissolves into a strong citrus bitterness with an odd vegetal note on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied, with a biting effervescence.
Drinkability: Not at all what I’m looking for in an APA. kseecs16 (907), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Draught at the pub - 06/2007. A nice clear golden body with an off-white head, some lacing. Aroma is piney hops, and very one dimensional. An unpleasant flavor is a sort of vegetable or stale hops, lacking in bitterness. Had a soft, almost cask like mouthfeel. Maybe it was getting flat. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Thanks to Bob, Michelle, and mostly my baby Jana for the 12th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival today! On tap @ the fest. Had to sample this twice to get the Big Boris outta my glass! Nose of malt, spice, pine & citrus, and dried fruit. The brew is a pale straw. The creamy white head is mostly diminishing and leaves light lace. The beer has high acidity with a heavy citrus presence. The finish is long and bitter. The light body is watery and soft. The finish feels crisp. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2007 From the bottle this pours a yellow body with a tinge of gold and sports a large chunky head. The aroma is mainly grapefruit and zest of lemon with the sweetness of weak pale malts struggling to get out. The flavor seems a bit unbalanced for an APA, the hops in domination. It tastes liuke lemon juice with grapefruit and a touch of pine. The malt is almost absent. The finish is prolonged and bitter, which pleases me, but it is an unbalanced drink.
