Commercial Description:
A beer that’s making a bit of a revival with the microbrewery movement. Quick oats (just like in your breakfast) are added to the mash in addition to barley malt, adding a rich, oily texture to the beer’s body.

One tasty big stout this was filled with oat and dark roasty malts. Great beer.

Labeled "Fat Guy Oatmeal Stout". Black with a nice cream color head. Aroma is lightly roasty, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is roasty with light chocolate, light caramel.

The aroma is what I can only describe as cat urine, herbal stale hops and dark malts. The body is dark brown to black with no head. The first sip reveals salt water, shrimp, beef and the tangy nether regions of wharf side hooker. Needless to say it is delicious on the planet Wharf Hooker Snatch, but here on earth I found it revolting.

A deep dark stout with an overflowing moka head. Chocolate malt with light black olives, In mouth, chocolate and coffee malt, with light acidic points, a bit of ashtray. Medium bodied. Trade with Capflu.

At the BBB63 comes to Tampa gathering, thanks to Joe, sort of:

Nearly opaque with a small head and minimal lace. The aroma has a noticeable dimethyl-sulfide character and some urine too. Beneath those flaws there is a hint of raisin, fig, coffee and bready malt. The taste is twangy and veggie with some acidic fruit. Where are the oats, too quick I guess? The mouth feel is thin, soft and just a blah experience. A very flawed example of a sweet stout, avoid like the plague. The worse "beer" of the night.

Courtesy Degarth. Dark brown color, thin soapy head. Odd aroma, brine and rot, with some roast in the background. Taste has the same quality to it, and the finish is pretty bland, thankfully. Pretty bad aroma here.

Bottle… March 08 Tampa Bay Tasting... Black ale with a small, quickly dissipating head. Big-time DMS dominates the aroma; shellfish and chocolate… and odd and unpleasant combination. Medium-bodied and extremely smooth with medium carbonation. Good balance, but the shellfish essence rears its ugly head in the flavor as well. Tastes like a Budweiser Chocolada?? The finish is bland, but sort of gross as well. Issues!

Courtesy of Degarth. Thank you, sir. I think.

Not sure if this was infected or it’s just how the beer is, but this wasn’t good....dark brown pour, looks a bit watery, small tan head with no retention or lacing....coffee, chocolate, saltwater, tangy sour fruits and dark malts on the nose...unfortunately these carry over to the flavor profile and somehow get a bit worse....thin mouthfeel, watery and nowhere near what a sweet stout should feel like....again, not sure if this was bad, but judging from the last couple of ratings, it could just not be for me....
