RONCOD (104), Uledi, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2009 Dark brownish amber color with a thick tan head. The flavor was a sweet caramel malty taste with some citrus in the background. Not a bad beer. Very cool bottle! phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 8, 2009 I’m not gonna lie- i just drank this baby out of the jug. I had to. My boss used to talk about this beer, he had it when he was a young lad. Now he’s old and grey, and can’t find it anywhere but i found it down in Chicago. HAd to buy it and tonight i imbibed it. Placid, creamy vanilla and a little oak i think. some milk chocolate notes is what i tasted. couldn’t tell ya what it looked like unforunately. but satifying and highly drinkable. it would be clever to get some swing tops for these here jugs and fill ’em with moonshine for the fellas. Yessir! Duhast500 (176), , Massachusetts, USA Aug 31, 2009 Poured from a 22oz bottle into a pint glass
The color is a dark amber, an almost red hue with a foamy white head.
The smell is not too strong. Slight hints of maple and some malts.
The taste is a little maple with hints of hops anda touch of malts.
This beer goes down smooth and has a nice porter feel to this beer but alot of the flavor is a bit muted.

Brown amber hue with tan and white big head. Not very aromatic, but hints of nuttiness. caramel malt flavor with long dry finish and light bite. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Aug 17, 2009 946mL bottle: Appearance is a dark amber brown with slow fading off white head, aroma is of stale malt, flavor has hints of roasted malt and very light bodied. didnt expect much for a 3.49 a qt beer but its not awful. Blaze312 (129), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Aug 17, 2009 1 Quart. Pours transparent brown. Aroma is soft malt. Taste is the same. For such a cool bottle i was expecting a better beer. I was treated to something just mediocre though. rds (224), USA Aug 9, 2009 A dark mahogany brew with a short tan head. aroma more on the moderate side than stout, but with a coffee/caramel note that suggests where this flavor could have gone.
