The worst thing is the palate - very watery with a soda like tongue. The appearance is nice and the aroma is average to the point that I was very excited after pouring. The large tan head dissipates into a nice lacy head. The flavor like the aroma is mild and not that good - average. Chocolate and caramel - some malt, no hops.

Poured a murky brown color with a small off white head. Aroma was of mild chocolate and some caramel, very subdued. Flavor was also subdued, very thin and bland for a porter.

Pours with a tan colored, frothy, initially two-finger thick head. The beer is concentrated, burnt amber color that shows ruby and amber hues when held up to the light. The aroma is a mix of light roast notes, butter, toffee, well toasted grain and more diacetyl accented butter notes. While the diacetyl is not overwhelming it certainly plays a big role in the aroma profile of this brew; ultimately it is just too distracting.

Light bodied and quaffable, there is a noticeable sweetness to this brew up front and in the finish. The sweetness in the finish is accentuated by buttery, almost butterscotch diacetyl driven flavors. The diacetyl is not as noticeable in the flavor as it is in the aroma, but it still plays a significant role. Sweet grain, almost corn-like flavors are offset by a light roast character that provides a touch of burnt acidity, and a soft, toasted grain character to the finish. A light hop bitterness becomes more noticeable in the finish where it tends to lightly linger on in the palate after the beer has left my mouth. Can be a little thin at times, a bit more malt richness would certainly be welcome.

About what I expected, not horrible, though not something to write home about either. The soft diacetyl character certainly doesn’t help. I’ll certainly pass an having this again though.

Pours the same color as those little root beer candies in the shape of a barrel. I don’t know why they call this a porter - it’s way too light on the taste buds. Not bad for quenching your thirst.

This beer pours a deep brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is caramal and maybe (I mean very little) light chocolate. Not that sure though. The flavors are the same. very light and watered down. Not a memorable beer Do not drink this one. Cheers!

I like the packaging, but no surprise it’s not a south’ren beer. Aroma of caramel and some stale hoppiness. Flavor is light and sour, with little hoppiness and some mildly roasted caramel malts. Finishes sour and bitter. Meh.

I’ve tasted mud, and I believe the people who made this beer tasted mud when they drank it...then, they said, people in Mississippi drink muddy water from their wells...so they felt it was good marketing, trick southerners into thinking it was made in the South...Utica...New York is a long way from gators and the ole miss river....I’ve bought it 2 times or 3.... dark, amber... taste. is ok.

smells like a dark lager, kinda skunkish, from the name of it i expected it to be darker but it turned out amberish with a light head... tastes porterish but its pretty watery.... i was a lot more excited when i saw the bottle
