Commercial Description:
Dating back to 18th century England, the custom of blending pale and dark beers has kept the "Black & Tan" a favorite of experienced beer drinkers for centuries. Our famous recipe combines a robust English Porter with a fine Continental Pilsner, preserving the character of each, while creating the classic taste of the legendary "Black & Tan." In true American style, we bring you the best of both beers as they meet in Mississippi Mud.

Bottle. Clear orange red coloured with a small white head. Sweet aroma of malts, caramel, fruits, hops and tea. Sweet flavour of malts, caramel, hops and tea. Hoppy finish.

This brew is way underrated in my opinion. Nice deep brown coloring and smells like most of the better brown ales that I’ve had. Very smooth sweet taste that is loaded with malt and has a definite cocoa flavor to it as well. I liked it.

not anything going on here. the bottle had the noteriety of still tasting tinny. cheap tasting sweetness is not offensive, but not repectable beer. i suppose the connotation of mud is you’re bit of hint. perhaps a pleasant sweet soda like mud, not bad but still mud.

BLAH! What an awful beer and it takes a lot for me to say that. Aroma was very faint and couldn’t really pick anything out other than a hint of malt. Pour was terrible for a porter. A crystal clear dark amber with no head. Taste was terrible. All carbonation with not much able to break through. This is the worst beer I’ve had all year and maybe in the last 6 months.

Brown coloured body with a large tan head. Looks reminiscent of cola with a bit of an opaqueness. Aroma of light roasted malt, some coffee and little else. Medium-bodied; Short malty flavour with some roasted qualities and some small sugar tastes. After is bland and mild - not much flavour throughout. Overall, this beer is lacking in many areas, but isn’t really offensive, so that’s a plus?!? I sampled this sixteen ounce bottle purchased from World Market in Pentagon Row, Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia on 19-November-2005 sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

One of my favorite beers that has become hard to come by lately. I love the taste and could drink it all day. Hope it become more popular again.

Sokkal jobbra számítottam az "üvegre" nézve.Valahogy olyan "semmilyen" íze sem volt.Inkább magában igyuk a portert és a pilsnert.
