Not very good. swoongangsta (1), Lakeland, Florida, USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Black and Tans premium beer in my opinion. I’ve tried many and this is it.
Besides making your own with Pilsner and Porter mix or going to a pub and receiving Guiness Stout along with Harps or Bass.
Mississippi Mud is very smooth, easy to drink... Worth trying if you haven’t. My suggestion as far as finding it in any area...check with distributors first , they will help you find this elusive beer. HopBackDoc (395), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Got the big jug, love the alligator on the label. Not much aroma, but a deep brown pour with some amber hues. Small head, light carbonation. Malty flavors, some cocoa and nuts in there too. Not bad for a premixed black and tan. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Pours a clear reddish brown, with a brief cap of foam. It looks undercarbonated. Light sweet malt in the aroma.
Starts and ends like a too thin porter. I would like to call the flavor ’chocolate’ but it was more like carob or chocolate substitute. Thin body, undercarbonated. Dixon (31), Iowa, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Definately not as good as a true black and tan, but still worth the money. Gotta love the jug with an alligator on it. slimchill (780), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours light brown with thick white-brown head. Aroma is simple and boring, malty. Taste is slightly better, but still bland. A bitter dryness lingers annoyingly. Overall drinkable, but nothing to justify such a nice bottle. ratman197 (3222), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 14, 2007 1 quart screw top bottle poured a clear brown with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of roasted malt and hints of cocoa and straw. Palate was light bodied crisp and watery. Flavors of light roastiness, straw and a hint of cocoa with a crisp watery finish. Not much to say about the aroma, pretty standard. Pours with small fizzy head. Tastes similar to a black and tan you’d get in the bar but watered down. Thinly carbonated. Good if you just want something to drink, better than the average drinking beer.
