| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Sweet moonshine jug. Pours kinda mud colored. Not much on the aromas, kinda malty with a hint of chocolate. Flavor was kinda bland. When you hear Mississippi Mud, you think thick and rich. This was a let down. rsans (125), Pont-Rouge, Quebec, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Brought back by a friend from Florida. Bottle is great. That’s about it. My home-made mix is far better as I can vary the proportion of beer and porter according to my taste. Minimal head. Very thin, watery and not much flavour. Not bad but nothing exiting about this beverage. ( PS. At my last football game I snuggled in a bottle of porter hidden in a H2O bottle which I mixed with the local stadium beer. It’s much more palatable that way) badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 30, 2005 Dark copper color with a thin head. Aroma of sour, burnt malts. Some dull hops and slightly sour coffee in the flavor, but other than that, it’s actually not nearly as offensive as I presumed it would be. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 29, 2005 Ok, the bottle is absolutely the best thing about thios beer. Except that it is non-offensive. Not much smell. Redish brown pour with a fizzy minimal head. A little malty a little hoppy, fairly watery and not much to write home about. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 24, 2005 Pours dark but transparent brown, not much head. Aromas of dark fruits, malt and grain. Tastes sweet, fruity. Some malt but little hops. A bit fizzy. Would benefit from from more hopping. It does, as advertised, comebine some qualities of a malty sweet dark beer with a hoppier light beer but, while the flavor combination is there, it’s weak. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2005 My first surprise was when I opened the bottle and took a whiff. It has the sweet grassy smell of a malt liquor... Not exactly what I was expecting. Pours a deep copper color. This beer does not preserve the character of a porter or a pilsner. Flavor is actually not that bad though, sorta unique. This should not be classified as a porter but I don’t know where I would classify this bastard. Flavor actually has quite a bit of malt. Medium bodied. I don’t know, I think it tastes a lot like a marzen, but that’s just me. But hey, it comes in a damn cool bottle. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
