Commercial Description:
Dating back to 18th century England, the custom of blending pale and dark beers has kept the "Black & Tan" a favorite of experienced beer drinkers for centuries. Our famous recipe combines a robust English Porter with a fine Continental Pilsner, preserving the character of each, while creating the classic taste of the legendary "Black & Tan." In true American style, we bring you the best of both beers as they meet in Mississippi Mud.

Not a horribly bad beer, light aroma, slighlty metallic. Cool bottle though.

Jug. Bourbon-colored, similar to cola, but lighter. Aroma is stale and metallic, with hints of malt and hops. Head is moderately thick, with a light tan color. Taste is horrible. Metal, with hints of sour hops, and something reminiscent of flat, cheap cola, and LOTS of water. Calling this ".....Mud" is grossly overstating it. Should be callled "Mississippi Stagnant Backwashed Pond Water". I tried to finish the whole bottle, but I just couldn’t bring myself to stomach this awful junk. Avoid, unless you want the cool bottle.

Clear dark amber color, light tan head. Lightly roasted aroma of pilsener malt and fruit. Flavor of a mild pilsener with a tone of roasted malt and a metallic edge. Bland.

I got to give it some respect. It smelled interesting, with weird malts in the nose, so I’ll give it credit for that. It looked decent enough as well. The flavor and palate, however, left a lot to be desired. Watery. I’d give it a lower score overall, but I also gotta give some props to the bottle.

A deep red beer with a small brown disappearing head. The aroma is sweet and roasted. The flavor is dry with notes of metal and a hoppy end, while the body is flat.

Brown coloured. Some malt notes in the aroma. Extremely thin and weak. I can imagine this is what dirty Mississippi water tastes like.

This beer is bullshit. Very thin and watery. Ridiculous bottle as well. Artificial finish. Damn!!!

Bottled: Amber coloured. Beige head. Aroma of malt, soy souce, winegum. Very thin body. Some malts are there. This is a very uncool beer in a cool bottle.
