Commercial Description:
Mitchell's has two locations that are nowadays unrelated and the beers taste differently. The bottles look identical, but the label states if it's brewed in Cape Town or Knysna. The beers from the brewery in Knysna is ony distributed to the Garden Route (from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth), and to a few places inland from there. The Cape Town brewery supplies the rest of South Africa.

Draught at the V&A Mitchells Brewery Pub. Hazy pale golden with minimal head.Sweet malty and peach aroma. Sweetish malty flavour with hint of fruit and notes of honey finishing dry and bitter. Not bad but unrefined. Messed with my head (packs quite a wallop).

didn’t taste like and old ale or look like one really. Golden body with descent white head. My and my buddies got pretty torn up on this stuff, since the brewhouse serves it in full imperial pints. Hot and bitter but far better than other South African beers so far. Descent stuff.

Tap in Cape Town in October 2007. A light golden yellow color. This one hides the alcohol well (listed as 11%) despite the dry limited flavors.
