Commercial Description:
Mitchell's has two locations that are nowadays unrelated and they taste differently. The bottles look identical, but the label states if it's brewed in Cape Town or Knysna. The beers from the brewery in Knysna is ony distributed to the Garden Route (from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth), and to a few places inland from there. The Cape Town brewery supplies the rest of South Africa.

A nice ale, which is quite unique in the region, although does not compare quite so well internationally. A strong taste of tea (which is not a bad thing and shared by many other beers). Lacks finish and end up being rather thin. Mixes well with Raven stout for a black and tan. On the weak side for the style (5%)

Draught at the brewery in 2006. Nut brown, creamy head. Aroma of roasty malt and cinnamon. Dryish and gently malty with complex malt structure and notes of coffee. Pleasant salty finish.
