On tap at the brewery on 7/13/09. Pours nice dark brown with good bubbly head. Nice coffee aroma and touch of sweetness up front. Very nice dry finish. Good example of an oatmeal stout and one of my favorite Moab brews.

Tap at Moab Brewery. Almost black body, with a small long lasting brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is the same. a it thin and waterish.

Tap at the brewery. Surprisingly enticing appearance: jet black with a nicely bubbly tan head. Good lacing with a solidly balanced body of coffee and malt. Likely the best beer brewed in Utah.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Moab, Utah. Cloudy, dark brown pour with a thick, foamy light brown head, bitter chocolate and coffee malts dominate the nose, a nice training wheels stout: not weak but not very potent, a nice milky mouthfeel, some bitter chocolate bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep black body with a thin cream colored head. The aroma was rich coffee and roasted malts. The taste was similar; coffee and a thick burnt malt sludge. Overall, quite good. Of course, I love stouts!

On tap at brewery. Pours a lovely opaque black. Very light aroma of malt and roast. Very thin, sweet malty body. Slight roast detectable. Touch of hop towards the end, but is swept over by malt. One of their better brews, but not a great beer.

on tap-pours a light tan head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-oatmeal/chocolate. Taste is dark malt-oatmeal/chocolate, secondary hops. Nice. OK/mild carbonation.

Poured on-tap from the brewpub; a thin ruby hued brown with an thin ivory colored foam. The nose had a nice mild roasty edge with a sweet oat platform and vanilla notes. The taste started with a nice coffee-esque roastiness that lingers a while before fading to an oaty sweetness that drys out slowly. This was pretty good, not too rich or thick, but tasty non the less. It’s a great little stout but is missing some of the styles deeper chacteristics as far as the body goes. Drinkability is high and at 4.0 ABV you can drink em’ all night.
