skoisirius (480), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 3, 2008 On tap at brewery. Pours a lovely opaque black. Very light aroma of malt and roast. Very thin, sweet malty body. Slight roast detectable. Touch of hop towards the end, but is swept over by malt. One of their better brews, but not a great beer.
ajm (369), California, USA Sep 7, 2008 Tap at the brewery. Surprisingly enticing appearance: jet black with a nicely bubbly tan head. Good lacing with a solidly balanced body of coffee and malt. Likely the best beer brewed in Utah. gws57 (995), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Moab, Utah. Cloudy, dark brown pour with a thick, foamy light brown head, bitter chocolate and coffee malts dominate the nose, a nice training wheels stout: not weak but not very potent, a nice milky mouthfeel, some bitter chocolate bitterness. douglas88 (826), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA May 17, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep black body with a thin cream colored head. The aroma was rich coffee and roasted malts. The taste was similar; coffee and a thick burnt malt sludge. But, the body was way too thin to be a good stout for me. Overall, good. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 24, 2007 on tap-pours a light tan head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-oatmeal/chocolate. Taste is dark malt-oatmeal/chocolate, secondary hops. Nice. OK/mild carbonation.
