Pours a clear light amber and orange, little cream-colored head. Touch of caramel and pine in aroma, but not much. Very off-tasting that didn’t have a great bitter/sweet balance. Not a great example of the style. hallinghansen (276), Odense SV, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Tap at Moab Brewery. Clear amber body, with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, hops, malt and dark fruit. Flavor is caramel, hops and malt. douglas88 (1676), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 On tap at the Moab Brewery. Pours a dark amber, almost purple, with a thin beige head. The aroma was actually quite hoppy, with some rich caramel malts too. The taste reminded me of a fine English IPA; bunches of malts, caramel, and some light hops. Pretty nice. Full and flavorful. skoisirius (588), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2008 On tap at brewery. This seems to be the heartier attempt at the Deadhorse. I’m starting to notice a trend here...watery! No body! I wonder why? Maybe because you can only brew to 4%! Ugh. Once again, you can tell exactly where they were trying to go with this if it wasn’t so watery. Better than the Deadhorse for sure. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Oct 14, 2007 Had this beer at GABF 10/2/1999. Aroma is fresh and hoppy. Taste is a sharp malt taste that comes off with an alcohol feel, no hop flavor but a nasty bitterness. Not good in any way. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Taste is roasty/smoky, caramel-medium malt, secondary flat hops bite. OK carbonation. mikey (337), farmington, Utah, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2007 On-tap at the brewpub: Poured a dark ruby - copper tinted color with a finger of dark ivory foam. The nose was moslty malts with some caramel, slight roasted tones and darker breads. Beneth were notes of grassy hops and herbal spices. The taste started with a good amount of finely roasted, whole grain bread, buttery and nutty caramel with a mild hop spice and bite near the finish. The finish lingers with a dried out caramel roasty twinge. A pretty good offering. One to come back to for sure. amalsugar (41), Tremonton, Utah, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 28, 2005 I love the copper color of this beer, but as with most of Moab breweries beer was disappointed with head retention. I had this beer at the brew pub and it went great with the crab & spinach dip as well as the fish and chips. For beers manufactured in Utah this one isn’t bad.
