Sweet and lightly perfumy aroma. Solid body, lots of roasted malts and burned caramel. Rather alcoholic finish - definitely feels like more than 6.5%! 041009 thebeertourist (2799), Oslo, Norway

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2005 Draught - Good grief! They’ve actually got this beer right! No infections, and it is a very decent strong amber ale. Drunk alongside De Koninck, this was similar, but more body and a fuller flavour, calling into question what de Koninck would be like if it was allowed secondary fermentation in the keg. But the issue here is that one of the smallest breweries with one of the most unlikely brewing kits has turned out a beer which can hold its head up in public.
