Very malty flavor and medium full mouthfeel makes for a slow drinker. Flavor has enough going on to keep your interest, but certainly no world class brew. Decent abv for what it is. Has a gently building bitterness at the end. A faint sweetness hanging in the background. A bit of caramel and toffee with lightly crisp and spicy hops. If I were paying full price I wouldn’t be overly excited, but half-price at Total Wine turns this stuff into a decent every day drinker and I’m happy. Bought a case.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark glowing reddish brown with a small off white head. Aroma is very sweet and sugary cookie like malts. Very festive holiday doughy and a little bit spicy ginger, cinnamon. Flavor starts with a very subdued spiciness that is barely present over the malt. Picks up a sweet fruitcake sugar malt character. Finishes just slightly bitter with some light crisp hops. Medium bodied and tingling carbonation. Nice winter ale, well balanced and not overly spiced Dandeman321 (6), Ohio, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Good ale taste. Great color and appearance. Tasted good but I’ve had better Christmas ales. ChainGangGuy (2568), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, bright but deep amber body with a modest, off-white head. Tis’ the season!
Smell: Malts display moderate scents of toasted bread and nuts while the hops give off some earthy, spicy notes.
Taste: Pale malts with some toasty, biscuity, and even nutty hints and a relatively light sweetness. Faint hint of fruitiness. Earthy, spicy hops impart no more than a light bitterness. It effectively finishes crisp and dry with a bit of those spicy hops riding out into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s all kinds of okay! This one makes for simple, easy drinking for wintertime or really any time of the year. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
