Aroma is awesome, bright citrusy lemony character over a soft leathery spiciness. Zesty and lightly earthy. Lots of bright corky goodness. Rich and cologney with lots of pear/apple esters. Very spicy and peppery with a lot of flinty dryness. Quite astringent, but despite that, I quite like it. A bit of swirling softens the carbonation and makes it a much more enjoyable brew. Quite a bit maltier and richer than I typically imagine a saison to be, but it’s pretty solid nonetheless. Slayer85 (584), Firenze, Italy
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2008 750 ml bottle. An unclear dark golden beer with a rich and persistent white head. The aroma is very nice, hoppy and yeasty more than malty with notes of flowers, grass, lemon and spices. there is also a light sour note. The flavour has a medium sweetness, atouch of acidity and a good hoppiness in the finish. A mild spiciness with some banana notes. Medium body, average/lively carbonation, dry quite long finish with medium bitterness. Plesant beer, maybe maltier flavours than a normal Saison and complex enough to gain after every sip. fluffy (229), Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2008 bought this as Dupont Foret. pours a cloudy caramel color. thick off white head. smells of yeast and overripe banana. taste has a sharp bite. spicier than most belgian ales. light fizziness with tart apple flavor. a big pricey due to the organic ingredents and the shipping cost. but pretty interesting.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2008 Dirty straw yellow, towering head of tiny bubbles. Flowery/perfumey aroma, then yeasty/musty. Sweet straw-like malts, perfumey flavour (rosewater?), some citrus, and doughy yeast. Very nice. TheGent (149), , Massachusetts, USA

Brownish yellow color in the pour, the flavor was doughy with a bitter dry finish. I’ve decided this is one of my least favorite styles. laguerita (111), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2008 A damn fine saison. Bottle from WLV. Pour is a golden saison color, nose is a kiss of skunk with some spicy fruitiness behind it. All hops in the nose, surprisingly. Taste is similar, though the skunk washes out and has a spicier, tangy taste, a little banana and surprisingly bitter. A great beer on a hot day. Excellent.
