May 15, 2008 750ml green bottle labeled Foret: Rich gold pour with a sturdy white top and lots of spiraling carbonation. The aroma is heavy with notes of doughy bread and sweet honey. Flowery hops along with notes of lemongrass, overripe bananas and vanilla add a nice complexity. The body borders on thick with lots of sweet malts building a great base for the citrusy hops to do their thing. Esthers aplenty in the body - more banana and vanilla bean are dominant. Finishes mildly bitter. This drinks really nice and is very complex even for the style. Solid example.

May 7, 2008 11.2 oz bottle labeled as Foret...poured a hazy orange w/ a nice two finger white head. Aroma of fresh flowers, bananas, yeast, dough, citrus, spice...Flavor is very fresh tasting, consisting of white grapes, peaches, mango, and some peppery hops! It has a slightly sour , and dry finish. Excellent beer!

May 5, 2008 Pours hazy golden color with white head. Sweet yeasty bread dough aroma. Mildly sweet flavor with some yeast and spices. Crisp and refreshing with a dry finish. Light to medium body with a lively carbonation. A very nice saison.

May 3, 2008 Deep golden, fairly hazy pour with medium to small white head. Lots of yeast on the nose, with a somewhat doughy presence as well as some lemony citrus. Some slight spice. Thought it landed somewhere in between a Belgian golden and a saison. Tasty, but not mind-blowing.

Apr 7, 2008 Labeled as 7.5% Dupont Foret. Pours with a large, rocky, white head covering a murky tan body with some medium sized particles floating around in it. Some lacing, but nothing special. Aroma is woody, fruity (citrus and bananas) with some spices. Taste is both peppery and fruity, but pretty boring. Very fizzy on the tongue. Way overpriced at $5.60 for an 11.2 oz bottle!

Apr 6, 2008 Updated: Apr 29, 2009Lovely golden pour with extra thick cap of head and even lacing. Distinctly Dupont yeast flavors: unsweetened dry citrus and zests (thinking loquat, pink grapefruit, pomelo etc); amusing astringency. Wacky as a saison should be with dry, slightly watery finish and the same kind of approachable complexity that the regular Dupont saison has. One of those great beers that you can either think about or not as the situation requires.
