I ordered a Saison DuPont but they were out. Saison Foret was available instead so I took it. It was an fantastic replacement.
Bright hazy orange gold with a dense and frothy white head. Significant fine lacing. Smells very peppery, spicy, dry and banana-ish. Odd for a saison (the banana, I mean).
Ever had Saison Dupont? This tastes very similiar (now I see that it is from the same brewery so that makes sense.) Some sweet malt, lots of pepper and spice. Banana flavors still evident in the taste. Quite dry, lots of pepper in the finish and aftertaste. Really tasty. If I wasn’t there for a beer tasting, I could have stuck with this all night. This goes to the top of my saison list. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2006 Aroma of hops, malt and grain, pretty straightforward, but each of the individual ingredients could be detected. Really nice bright golden-yellow color. Ample head, super frothy and foamy, long-lasting, leaving some traces of bubbles on the glass. Flavors of wheat, yeast, citrus, spices, hops ...wildflowers maybe. Absolutely no hint of alcohol. Well-carbonated, extremely refreshing with a nice dry (and slightly hoppy/bitter) finish. An awesome Saison. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Bottled. Hazy orange in colour. Minor white head. Lacings. It has a yeasty and sweetly fruity aroma with wheat. The flavour is a bitter wheaty experience. It has a dry aftertaste. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

It’s got a light amount of hops in the finish, it seems. Smooth and a little spicy throughout. I could drink this all the time. oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland

Flavour is hops, malts, yeast and some earthy and ginsengic notes. Very weird mix, but still very refreshing. iowaherkeye (1854), Los Angeles, California, USA

Pours a hazy golden with few floaters and a large off-white head. Aroma is banana, spicy earthy hops, yeasty, fruity esters. dust, small amount of alcohol. Nice. Taste is the same with a dusty dry finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very good beer. SoLan (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Hazy gold. Huge, dense, sponge of a white cap. Grainy malt, earth, crisply bitter hops, cereal, subtle spices, and a dry yeasty finish. Medium body is extra bubbly, too much so. Other than the carbonation, a solid brew.
