Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 22/12/08. Chestnut coloured with a frothy off-white head. Candied fruit, caramel and marzipan aroma. Flavour was similarly sweet, with plenty of toffee and a contrasting earthy hop finish. Ok.

Cask, handpump at the Woolpack, Banbury, Oxon 20-12-08 Pours dark brown with white head. Malty, fruity beer, touch of sourness, drinks quite well for the abv. Little bit sweet and can become a little tiresome after a while. A5 A4 F6 P3 OV12 3.1

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Chestnut to ruby with slight white head. Fruity, nutty beer that shows its alcohol in a burning medicinal way. Malty with hints of aniseed, moving to sweet on the close. A more challenging beer.

Cask (Kitty’s, Helsinki) end of barrel. Deep brown. Sour, not in a good way. Lots of promise though. Tastes like it’s got bucket-loads of flavour. Sweet, fruity, and malty. Would like to have again.

Sampled from cask (gravity dispense) at 6th Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival 2005.
Thin off-white head, dark brown body. Fruit, grass and some toffee in the aroma. Fruity and malty flavor. Dry and rather thin bodied. Fresh but really nothing special.

Striking ruby colour. Aroma is fruity and herbal, with some dark malt, licorice, chocolate and a vinous edge. A hint of sweetness early on the palate, becoming woody and relatively dry. More licorice and medicinal notes. Slightly sharp finish. Lasting dry, bitter aftertaste. Tending towards an old ale in style. Quite impressive. Bright bottled from cask (gravity dispense) at Chelmsford Beer Festival.

Cask@The Evening Star, Brighton. Light green apple, with some toffee, caramel, and some subtle clovey spice, quite smooth and innofensive.

No head, brown in colour. Sweet nutty fruity taste. Slightly acidic. Light caramalt aroma. Medium bodied. Ok.
