Pours a deep orange-brown with a medium, frothy, yellowish head. Aroma has notes of sweet oranges, hazelnuts and a slight smoky note. Quite sweet actually. High carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet at first, lots of hazelnuts notes. Some hoppiness before a powerful smokiness hits in well. Lightly warming. gunnfryd (2743), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 11, 2008 Bottle @ Maria tasting. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, fruit, malt, smoked. flavour is smoked, sweet, hop, caramel, malt, fruit. OK beer. yngwie (3529), Kristiansand, Norway May 26, 2008 Bottle. A hazy, brown beer with a nice but a bit small beige head. Smoked, malty and sweetish aroma with a fruity touch. Full-bodied, effervescent mouthfeel with flavors of sweetness, fruit, some toffee and smoke. The smoke is more evident in the finish, where also roasted malt and a sugary sweetness is present. A quite nice smoked beer that doesn’t let the smoke do all the work. (080412) JMFG (1140), Florida, USA May 18, 2008 Courtesy SoLan. Slightly cloudy copper color with a thin broken layer of off-white head. Mild general wet grain aroma with a very little smoke present. Wet grains on the taste with some earthy qualities, but again no real discernible smoke character. Kind of odd. TBone (4975), Pori, Finland May 17, 2008 Bottled (BB 07/2008)
Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo!
Hazy nut brown color, small brownish head. Mild nose: yeast and caramel. Bitter, alcoholic, some candy sugar and herbs. Foamy mouthfeel. Simple drinkable Dutch winterbeer. Didn’t find any smoke.
