Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 2, 2008 Bottled at RBESG 2007. An amber mead with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of heather honey. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of honey, and medium notes of rosehips. motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Nov 4, 2007 bottled, thanks tom. deep golden, simple honey aroma, quite thick but not too cloying, some vanilla, a faint herbal quality but hard to discern beyond the obvious honey sweetness Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 25, 2007 A dark golden, clear mead with an explosive wax nose. Pure candlestick aroma. In mouth, it is a thick honey galore, fully syrupy and sugary. Frankly one-dimensional for a mead. Sure it’s got good legs and acts as a sipper, but there is not much depth for that thickness. rickgordon (3073), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 12, 2007 Bottled. RBESG.
Deep charneol colour. Aroma from honey pastilles and salmiac. Pretty smooth mouthfeel, with sweet honey and alcohol. Under maturation still, would gain from another couple of years. Mes_and_Sim (4487), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 27, 2007 A Mes rate:
Cheeky pre RBESG rate stood at the downstairs bar in Blackfriars with a few others. Whiskey colour. Extreme honey aroma with some sweet alcohol and peach. Very very sweet in the flavour and a little too much for me. Lovely mouthfeel. All the sweet honey holds it back a little however if you ask me.
