Aroma of butterscotch, caramel, something a little funky, Belgian yeast, tobacco and mixed citrus. Flavor of Belgian yeast, mixed citrus, spicy notes, Cheerios, some banana and lemon. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Pours clear copper with creamy off white head. It has a very mild aroma hinting at lightly roasted malts and not much else. The flavor is much bolder than the aroma indicated. I get roasted malts, Belgian candi sugar and some caramel. I get some malt astringency that plays very nicely against the malty and candi sweetness and the dark fruity esters that follow which float notes of prunes and dates. Excellent medley of flavors that go well together. Rustyham (585), miami, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Spicy like a Unibroue product. Lots of Nutmeg and cinnamon, maybe cloves. This should be a Christmas Ale. It’s fantastic as long as it stays cold (like most heavily spiced beers) but with warm food, outdoors in Miami’s 98 degree weather, it gets nasty quick. On Tap at Yard House, Coral Gables. dimenhetfield (207), , Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2009 I’ve never really tried organic beers in my comings and goings of beer stores but this one is pretty damn good. Has a light brown gold color when poured. Definitly has a light spice note to it with a little bit of fruit in there as well. slimchill (781), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2007 FBG07. Yeast sour nose, some malts come through after a little white. Golden with thin patchy white head. Opens sour, settles into hop balance. Crisp drinkable palate. Surprisingly good. Beerlando (2352), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 14, 2007 On draft at The Ravenous Pig. Clear, dark reddish-orange amber body. No head at all, just a wispy film with a small off-white edge. The aroma is light and floral, with honey, light toast and sweet golden raisons. The flavor shows honey and rose hips up front, accompanied by lightly toasted caramel malts, raisons, a dash of nutmeg, and a mild herbal hoppiness. Short, clean finish. Medium body. Smooth and pretty easy to drink. Resembles a Belgian golden ale much more than an amber. Very similar to Holy Mackerel, but better in all facets. Surprisingly decent. TheRimmer (483), Florida, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Draft... Clear amber ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Vinous, fruity aroma with addtional notes of caramel and steamed grain. Nice little malt bomb, this one... sweet flavor with lots of crystal/caramel malts. Full-bodied and oily with fizzy carbonation. Sweet, then dry finish. Sort of complex for an amber as I found a few fruity esters in the nose and flavor. Oh, I hadn’t read the commercial description until just now. I guess the Belgian yeast would have something to do with this brew’s complexity... complex for an amber ale, that is.
