A finger of creamy brown head and nice sheets of lacing. Mild aroma is espresso and chocolate. After such a mild aroma, I was impressed with the richness and intensity of the flavor. Huge espresso presence and a nice amount of bittersweet chocolate. Nice roasty tail compliments the espresso well. Very nice.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2007 On tap at the 2007 GABF: Ppurs a barely transparent dark mahogany with a small, frothy dark tan head. Aroma of roasty, slightly earthy, fresh coffee beans with a hint of dark chocolate. Body is about average with a mild dark malty sweetness and good coffee balance toward a lingering roasty finish. Very drinkable. Guerde (702), Welcome, Minnesota, USA

Nice aroma of burnt malt and coffee. Taste is all coffee, that rounds out to a nice roasted finish that is accentuated when exhaling. Medium bodied, quite good. kingbing (7), Montana, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2007 I like this beer, good coffe aroma with an appearance as dark as any espresso i’ve had. As mentioned in previous posts kind of simple the front is expresso, with a touch of chocholate and smoke in the middle, then disappears into nothing. If you like coffee you like this beer. Next time I’d like to try an Irish car bomb using it. badgerben (3600), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Another growler from Skyview. Black color with a thin head. Aroma of coffee (go figure). Massive espresso flavor with a very dry and bitter chocolate and malt finish. Beautiful. JK (2952), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 10, 2007 From Skyview. A fairly mild coffee beer. Black in color and a small brown head. The aroma has coffee, and the flavor has more cold coffee flavor as well as some cocoa and malt. A little bitter. Good, thick palate. OSLO (826), Perth, Australia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 10, 2007 [Growler, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a light tan head. A lot of burnt malt initially in the aroma, with the coffee more noticeable as it warmed. A lot of coffee in the taste with a little chocolate. Pretty thick and smooth. Long finish. A fairly one-dimensional beer, as coffee beers often seem to be, but it was good. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA
