Dusty grain and dirty orange rinds. Light cooked vegetable aroma. Hazy medium amber, with thin pale wispy head. Mild lacing. Medium watery body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts with slight sweet malts, toffee and caramel. Decent hop bitterness but has some chalky astringency. Bit of diacetyl. Nutty dry finish with chalky after. Can’t quite place the characteristics, but reminds me a lot of several of the French microbrews from Bretagne. Not quite an IPA in my opinion, more like an American Pale. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Nice light amber color. For a pale ale, the taste is very subdued, like all the other Monte Carlo varieties I tried at the brew pub. Soft hops bitterness with a slightly over sweet aftertaste. This beer probably wouldn’t please the hard core IPA fans, but I rate it very drinkable. PGA324 (85), Savage, Minnesota, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 27, 2006 Sightly off sour aroma with some stinky feet. Cloudy copper in color, fast disappearing head. There is a tingly bitterness on the tongue, and lemon in th after taste, but the taste is all malt, sweet and apple, with the lemon left in the throat a few second later. Back to the drawing board please. Thanks for the sample Larry. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Gold/copper with a white head. Smells lightly grassy and citrussy. No real developed hop profile. Tastes like something thrown together without thinking too carefully about what hop varieties produce what aroma/taste. Bockyhorsey (2540), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Poor attempt for an IPA. Somewhat of a meedium hop aroma. Orange color body with a head that was gone in 15 seconds. Flavor was of mild bitterness and water even stale to a point. But thanks to the visitor that was kind enough to bring some brews with her over thanksgiving.
