Commercial Description:
Silver State Stout is a dry, yet suprisingly smooth version of a traditional Irish Stout. A complex blend of six types of barley and oatmeal create a complex flavor profile and rich mouth-feel.

Draught at the brewpub
Dark brown color; thin head; nice lace. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Flavor of milky roasted malt, too light mouthfeel.

Tap at the Monte Carlo. Pours with a lot of head. This is a heavy beer with a roasty after-taste. Easy to drink, but tasted just a little watered down to me.

It was dark in color with a nice frothy head. It tasted a little like coffee with a smooth aftertaste.

Growler, shared by DarkElf. Pours black and opaque with a small tannish head that diminishes to a foamy ring with tiny, spotty lace. Aroma is roasty, dry malts, some floral notes, milk and bitter, over- brewed coffee. Bitter roasy malts in the flavor, herbal and more floral notes, slight sweetness and a dry finish. Initially full body which thins quickly, little to no carbonation. Pretty average brewpub stout.

One of six beers tried in the sampler at the Monte Carlo brew pub. It has a nice smokey wood taste with chocolate and coffee undertones. For a stout, the flavor is a bit understated, making it one of the first stouts I could drink as a session beer.

By far the best Monte Carlo beer I’ve had. Dark brown beer with above average tan head. Aromas of malt and chocalate. Long lasting flavors starting with chocalate and ending with coffee. Excellent lacing.

Bottle poured black with very little head or lacing. Sweet roasty, soy sauce aroma. Sweet roasty, coffee flavor that seemed too artificial. Body was a bit watery and weak overall.
