Commercial Description:
Silver State Stout is a dry, yet suprisingly smooth version of a traditional Irish Stout. A complex blend of six types of barley and oatmeal create a complex flavor profile and rich mouth-feel.

Reddish brown, opaque, minimal head formation. Mostly grainy, roasted aroma, some sweetness (lactose?). Balanced sweet and roasty, charred palate. It definitely seems like there’s a little sugar added in. Slightly sour in the finish and roasty touches in the aftertaste.

Starts of as a "not bad" and ends as a "decent to good" (i.e. if you don’t like it on the first sip, keep drinking). Nice opaque color with hints of coffee and roasted malts on the nose. Palate is a little too light/watery, but there are some nice flavors of chocolate. Also, fnishes with a nice clean sheet of lace (almost attractive in a stout).

Dark brown, poured very quietly; not a lot of carbonation here. Roasted malts, a moderate amount of sourness until a light hop presence helps to dry out the finish (Thanks Rick!)

(Draught) Pours a black color with an average-sized tan head. Watery palate for a stout. Flavors of coffee, toffee, and roasted malt.

bottled: this one had a weird nose that i couldnt quite pinpoint over the normal coffee notes, something buttery coconut, like baileys. the mouth is flat and needs a little more carbonation. with the nose you expect a big choc malt taste, but its quite thin and uninteresting.

Draft - Dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Roasted malt, almost smoky, aroma. Slightly sour. Not a very good attempt at a stout. Give me Guinness...

Mildly smoky aroma. Guiness knockoff. Thinnish. Twangy. Not much to say here.

Bottle. Dark in color. Roasted aroma. Flavor is overwhelming in lactic acid. I couldn't get past this taste and had a hard time finishing the bottle.
