wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2009 I thought this was good. Not as strong as most double IPAs but exceptionally drinkable. Alabama just removed the 6% law and I was glad to see the brewpub had taken advantage of this. The menu said this was 7.2% I think. Medium bodied and well balanced. Not as hopped as some. Strong pine aroma, typical American pale ale taste, just a little stronger. Not a very dinstinctive beer, but certainly good. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2009 This was pretty good, as long as you’re not expecting a huge beer. Pretty stock AIPA, not sure what the gravity of this was - it is Alabama after all. Clear, darkish amber. Lots of malt, medium-heavy west coast hopping, really well balanced and a good compliment to food - although the Montgomery Brewing food is lackluster these days. Even on a hot June night, this made a good refreshment. Overall, I think I liked the Goat Hill Amber just a tad better though.
