PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jun 20, 2008 On tap at the brewpub in Montgomery before catching a Montgomery Biscuits baseball game. Medium-light golden pour - slightly murky with a frothy white head. Maple syrup and molasses in the aroma kind of sweet. Flavor is similarly sweet with some nuttiness, molasses and some candied sugar notes. Thickish mouthfeel. Very decent. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 8, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was pale yellow with a white head. The aroma was fruity pears with some hints of medicine. The taste was fairly sweet with some malty notes and bitter bread crust. This was almost cloying sweet, even for the style. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Apr 26, 2007 Draught. Pours gold with a spare frothy white head, mostly diminishing, and spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (straw, grain), average hops (herbs, celery, grass), heavy yeast (sweat, soap) with notes of apple, peach and butter. Light bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Moderate sweetness, acidity and bitterness; heavy sweaty, dough yeast and herbal flavor.
