Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 29, 2003 Butter, patent and slightly vinegar aroma. Not very dark, like a vienna or lightish schwarzbier -- dark walnut (woodstain) color. Very smooth, cocoa-buttery, nutty, dry. Medium finish with bitter spikes. Very balanced acidity.
This was a really interesting brew. After talking to the brewmaster, I understood why -- he had lightened up their traditional porter recipe for the summer. It came off rather well.
