Jun 8, 2008 Tap at the brewpub. Medium copper body with a thin white head. The aroma was sweet and malty with some caramel. The taste was a little bit of dirt and bread crust. There was also some caramel.

Aug 29, 2003 A little whiskey, dough and starchy aroma -- it was hard to tell -- the guy next to me fired up a cigarette. Not very red at all -- appeared like a helles or darkish lager in color -- lighter than their PA. Light nutty sweetness. Good moderation on the hopping, good ph, exceptionally clean drinking, as were all the beers that I tried here.

Mar 29, 2005 Mellow caramel malt flavor with no real discernable hops. Smooth and clean, but not a whole lot of flavor. Clear copper body with a white froth of a head.

Jun 11, 2006 Poured a reddish amber color with not much of a head, but pretty good lacing. The aroma was of light caramel, no hops. The flavor profile was simple, light caramel. Hops were present (not enough to keep this from being too sweet), none of the American varieties came through in the flavor (bittering only). Mouthfeel was typical.

Jun 23, 2007 On draught. Weak taste for a micro-brew but better than other commercial offerings. Malty flavor with a low hop character. Good, but not enough flavor.

Nov 5, 2007 Appearance: Garnet-hued body with a dense, lush off-white head.
Smell: Altogether bland aroma with only faint hint of caramel and yeastiness.
Taste: Light caramel maltiness with a bit of sweetness. Mild hop presence provides a faint tea-like bitterness and a hint of lemon. Bittersweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A bit light on flavor, but it’s still pretty decent.

Dec 7, 2008 on tap-pours an off white ring for a head and amber color. Aroma is thin, sweet medium malt, faint herbal. Taste is thin, sweet medium malt, secondary herbal hops. Semi dry finish. Easy.
