It’s skunky and I found it to be totally unenjoyable. In fact I was in a shout and we were all drinkable different beers. On the 2nd round, my mate bought me another one of these and I had refuse and buy something else.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2009 330ml bottle. Pours burnt toffee with a well-retained soft beige head. Lacing all the way down the glass. Burnt sugars, piney hops, brewed coffee and berries. Taste is coffee, cocoa and nuts. Has a full yeasty mouthfeel. I’m not getting either the thinness or sweetness that some others here have reported - mine’s dry and quite rich. It was at the porter end of brown ale. It would seem that this one has been a bit all over the shop, but this bottle is very good. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Bottle at chris_o’s "smash Kook’s granny tasting". Alround rating: Pale honey sweetness, roasty rich sweetness, though it is fairly thin, it remains balanced and drinkable enough. davidm (186), Melbourne, Australia

Flavour is sweet, with some bitter notes. Medium body, with a silky feel in the palate. Dark brown colour, and thin white head that disappears. jonno (600), Brisbane, Australia

Moo Brew are really making some really interesting beers. this one is good but not great, well made with rich roast malt flavours. Threepwood (28), Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2009 Updated: Nov 28, 2009Wouldnt call this a Brown Ale either but that aside it pours very dark brown but with a lovely clear brilliance, creamy mocha head. Lots of chocolate and coffee on the nose and plenty of dark malt coming through on tasting. Flavours fade out quickly. Perhaps a little over carbed for my taste.
- updated note, Had another one of these and the carbonation is fine OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2009 [On-tap at the Local Taphouse in Sydney] FIrst of all, I don’t think that this is a brown ale. If it is, it is unlike any that I have had before...if I had to peg it as anything I would say that they were taking a stab at a scotch ale. Pours red witha big beige head. Nose is dusty, sweet caramel notes and quite a bit of nuttiness. Taste has a little alcohol, dry toasted malt towards the end, nuttiness again, a very slight touch of chocolate, canned tuna, and a huge amount of cracker as it warms. Medium mouthfeel, smooth, and has a fairly long, semi-dry finish. Really strange, and I just couldn’t shake the thought of a tuna hotdish after I recognized the canned tuna and cracker elements (which wasn’t as bad as it sounds, actually it was kind of enjoyable in an odd way). nate2g (1132), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium white head. Chocolate malt aroma and notes of coffee. The flavour is chocolate malt and coffee. I think it’s too thin for a brown ale but it’s OK.
