pintocb (505), Darsville, Georgia, USA Jun 29, 2009 I think this is the brown I had last week. Brown with some red highlights. The aroma is malty with some notes of chocolate. Good roasty flavor. Slight presence of hops. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Folio Weekly Beer Festival. Copper colored and a bit of lacing, the aroma is mostly hops and malt...it really missed on the caramel and wasn’t all that great. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA May 23, 2008 Ratings by Veeve, Back by Popular Demand, on Vacay in the lovely Savannah, Georgia. This beer is found on tap at the MoonRiver restaurant and brewing site on Bay Street in Savannah, GA. I wasn’t impressed. Not that I’m a huge fan of brown ales but I thought this one was particular boring and blah. full copper colored body with considerable lacing. citrus, lightly sweet, light hops and malt. but just something is off about it. the flavors don’t come together and make anything coherent or worthy. leave this one...take many of the other Moon River wonders. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 23, 2007 Can’t find any notes on this one - only numbers. Had this at 2005 Classic City Brew Fest. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 4, 2005 Pours medium brown with a tan head. Carmel s and nuts dominate the nose. Flavor is carmel malts, nuts, alittle roast, and a little hops. Eh, it’s a brown. BeerandBlues2 (3190), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Apr 17, 2005 Pours nut brown with orange hints and an off-white head. Malty yeasty aroma with a banana nose. Yeasty and olive start then finishes hoppy. Medium-bodied and fizzy palate. hurleymanvw (101), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Sep 15, 2004 Good copper color with good head. Sweet tasting with a hop feeling and a roasted taste. Good beer overall. PorterPounder (3131), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Mar 29, 2003 Reminds me of a widget induced English Ale - same creamy consistency - akin to Boddingtons. Nice deep copper color. Lots of lacing on the thick long lasting head. Bit of a roasted flavor. No real aroma detected.
