Commercial Description:
A brew with an exceptional depth of character named in honor of one its key ingredients. This is the Moon River version of classic Belgian Trippel Ale. The Belgians are well known for using all sorts of wacky stuff in their brews. In the case of Trippels, the tradition calls for a moderately heavy grist of just one grain: golden pilsner malt. However, the strength of a Belgian Trippel comes from the addition of

Pours a clear golden color with minimal head. Flavor is sweet from the dixie crystal but not overdone. Not for everybody but definately worth trying.

At the brewpub in Savannah. Sweet from the dixie sugar, in the style of a Belgian with candi. Despite its extreme sweetness, it was darn drinkable, and there is graininess from yeast and wheat. I liked it, and damn good on a winter Georgia night that would be spring back home.

on tap-pours a white ring for a head and yellow color. Aroma is sweet light fruit-pineapple, light grain. Taste is sweet light fruit-pineapple, light grain, some spice, alcohol, yeast. Syrupy malt. Quick/short finish. Nice.

Crystal clear gold, but a little pale for the style. Nice, bone white head tops it. Very fruity, yeasty aroma like spiced peaches. Apricot fruitiness overwhelms the pale malt, but there’s just enough bitterness to balance. Dangerously drinkable.

crystal clear gold, creamy white head, streaks of drippy lace, sweet sugar aroma with a light fruity character, sweet and fruity flavor, a very different and unusual sweetness with a very sticky candy character, even the fruity character is different from the usual estery fruit and more like a peach or apricot, light spicyness, alcohol shows as a warming character to the sweet fruit,

Clear golden beer with a big white head. Aroma is of peaches, honey, and some shortcake. The flavor has more peach with some orange marmalade and honey. Unfortunately this one is a bit undercarbonated which is a problem I’ve noticed in several American interpretations of Belgian styles lately. All in all this is still a very tasty beer.
