Commercial Description:
Little Chocolate Doughnuts is a porter with an appealing,, semi-sweet, not-so-bitter, chocolate malt character. This beer was actually "dry-doughnut-ed" in the firkin for a little touch of "HOT NOW" goodness! Brewed by John Pinkerton & Chris Lady.

Appearance: Black body topped by a thin, wispy khaki-colored head. Smell: Damned if it don’t smell like lil’ chocolate donuts. Taste: Damned if it don’t taste like lil’ chocolate donuts, too! Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: This is just wonderful.

Best of fest at 2008 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting. This was definitely a hit with the ladies of our group. The aroma is for certain, little chocolate doughnuts. In fact the aroma wafts a decent ways from the glass. Almost like living within a block of a Krispy Kreme. The doughnut flavor does not come through as strongly as the aroma. You do get some flavors of vanilla and roasted malt. Slight hint of chocolate and some sweetness to finish you off.

On cask 1/26/08 at the Atlanta Cask Ale tasting: Barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of rich creamy milk chocolate and some dark caramel complexity reminds me a lot of Youngs Double Chocolate Stout. Body starts creamy and lightly sweet with lots of milk chocolatey flavor and subtle bittering hop balance with a doughy semi-sweet finish. A very interesting and well made brew.

Cask @ Atl Cask Ale Tasting 2008. Very suprised by this beer as I haven’t had anything good from this brewery ever. Second favorite brew @ the festival. Nice chocolate, malt, and vanilla balance, with an edge towards the chocolate.

Pours an almost opaque black color with a very light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, dough, and vanilla. Flavor is roasty, dough, vanilla, chocolate, and a light bitter finish. This was an awesome beer.

Cask @ ATL Cask Ale Fest ’08. Tons of chocolate in the nose and on first sip. Reminds me of Rogue Chocolate Stout. Chocolate and vanilla dominant. It does taste like a chocolate doughnut. One of the better beers at the festival.

Definitely an unusual process. Very chocolatey, a bit of sugar. You can taste the doughnuts.
