This beer is found on tap at the MoonRiver restaurant and brewing site on Bay Street in Savannah, GA. A very grainy aftertaste. A good example of its German style, certainly met its intention. see-through watered down copper color. good if you like these German beers but not a GREAT one of its kind. not as complex as you might want. not much else to say. its what you would expect. a bit of bitter aftertaste/a bit burnt. jaymobrown (1356), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Some hops in the end. Hmm.. much like the rest of the beers I tried, this was rather uneventful, but not in a good way. It was just sort of there. kiefdog (1605), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a clear dark golden to amber color with a thin white head that dissipated quickly leaving little lacing on the glass. Aroma was very faint in the pour we tasted although we identified some spice and slight sweetness. Flavor: Hints of orange peel, slight sourness, medium body with a watery and unremarkable finish. baileyuk (11), Wixom, Michigan, USA

It had a good look although looked a little light for the style. This ended up being true as the taste was also not to style. It was a weaker taste and although initially not unpleasant it was less flavorful than most beers. It started okay but finished worse. I would say that in the right situation it may be okay, but it is not to style and I probably would not revisit if there are other choices.

The aroma was junky like an Oktoberfest beer with corn malt and hops like leaves. The flavor was like the aroma. The palate was thin but smooth. emacgee (1884), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Had in Savannah at Smiley’s bar several times. I was a bit surprised to see this listed as a Marzen. I thought it tasted a lot like an IPA. Nice amber with a one finger white head. Piney hoppy aroma, some grain, well balanced. Bitter hoppy aroma, a bit waxy, lightly sweet, grainy. Not too bad. Hance07 (192), DownSouth, Georgia, USA

Taste is sweet malt with little if any hops noticable. Great for the style. jeremytoni (1108), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
