Lots of noble hops, touch of crystal malts, but the hops really overpowered it and took the beer over leaving the other flavors tasteless and not there. Pretty boring. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Actually a pretty good beer. More of a blend of a Helles and Marzen. It just didn’t have the malt, color, or gravity needed for a true festbier. Good sparkle. LLee (20), Brandon, Mississippi, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 25, 2006 I had this at the Moon River Brewing Company after walking around the Historic district of Savannah. Dark yellow with a slight foamy head. Very smooth and refreahing with light bitter spicy after taste. I asked for seconds... muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2006 Draught pint at Fiddler’s Crab restaurant in Savannah, GA. Light clear gold with a lasting touch of white head....pale malty nose, grassy and lightly citric, touches of caramelized apple, a little low-powered....but the flavor profile is strong and delightful, with delicate Hallertauer spiciness from start to finish, light pale and heavier caramelized malts well extracted, smooth but with a noticeable sweet, spicy bite, extremely fresh (especially for an Octoberfest in April!). Really well done. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2006 (On tap) Clear, fully golden with a creamy, white head. Very discreet aroma with a whiff of caramel. Medium-bodied with with some malty caramel flavours. Again a bit low in carbonation. Bitter, hoppy finish. 010406 Silenus (12), Savannah, Georgia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 15, 2005 I thought this beer was a little "off style" in flavor but hit the appearance spot on. Excellent warm orange color with slight malt aromas. The hops seemed to beat out the malt on the palate and it left a bite on the back of the tongue. The mouthfeel was a little on the light side. I’d rather it bring a little more malt to the taste and move the hops later in the boil. GeneralGao (3067), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Draught. Clear, light amber color without much head. Malty with spicy hops in the nose and flavor. Not a bad beer. Fairly typical for style. Megan (101), Durham, North Carolina, USA
