Commercial Description:
the name given a new hoppy, low-alcohol pale ale from the minds of Brewmeister John Pinkerton and his talented assistant, Chris Lady, at Moon River Brewing Company. While Savannahfest remains the microbrewery’s flagship, it’s apparent that Slow-vannah and its session beer characteristics could propel it into become a leading, year-round offering.

On tap at the brewpub. Excellent balanced session beer. Clear amber color with off-white head. Nice lacing. Smooth and silky body from oats in the grist. Nice hop flavor balancing out the malt sweetness. Citrus hop aroma doesn’t overpower the bready malt. The lower abv makes this a nice beer for a longer drinking session.

This may have been my fav from our trip. Good malty flavor with great citrus hops. Yum.

Sampled at Southern Brewers Festival 2008. Orange-copper colored brew with a wispy head (a bit hazy). Crisp/spicy aroma, and perhaps a bit of wood as well. Smells dry. Nice level of bitterness with the toasted grains, light caramel, and malty flavors. Semi-dry finish with a wet start and medium body. Quite drinkable.

on tap at the brewpub. Wow, what an underrated pale ale. This is a hazy gold color with a good head. The nose sports nicely pronounced hops with lots of citrus like clean grapefruit, orange, and some wooden bitterness. The flavor is clean and dry leaning though certainly crisp and refreshing. Lots of citrus is evident in the flavor while maintaining a commendable balance and admirable realization of a now classic American style. Very solid offering.

Hazy light amber. Lemony, melony hop aroma with a lightly perfumey accent. Smooth body. Lots of grapefruity hops mesh with an overall canteloupey character.

2008 Southern Brewers Fest . Tap. Amber color. Aroma of pine hops. Smells like a bag of hops! Flavor of a decent malted brew with a bold hop bitterness. Nice hop florals Tasty. Tasty.

Draft at brewpub. Pours a dark orange color. 1 finger, off white head. Nice citrust aroma. Caramel malt flavor, but not much in the way of hop bitterness. Slight bitter finish.
