Commercial Description:
Like its namesake, this strong ale is known for the sneak attack. Hop-heads will enjoy its assertive bitterness and huge floral, dry hop aroma.

Yellow color, minimum white head. Really bitter, but in a strong nearly unpleasant way. Citrus and orange flavors help to bail things out a bit.

Pours a dark amber color with good sized offwhite head. Aroma is piney hops. Flavor is smooth with a large amount of hops in the finish. Very pleasant IPA.

On-tap at the brewpub. Above average IPA. Grapefruit colour, a solid white head and lacing, with good carbonation and above-average bitterness. C-hop aroma. A good drinker.

The aroma was citrusy and hoppy and quite resinous and grassy. A caramel not lurked behind the hops as well as a lightly fruity nature, but the aroma was mostly hops. The beer arrived lightly hazy with a white frothy tall long lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was nicely bittered with a citrusy and resinous grassy presence. Caramel was again in the background and gave a light bit of sweetness. Otherwise the flavor was filled with orange and grapefruit. The finish was dry with lasting citrus into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a somewhat low level of carbonation and a creamy texture on the palate. A nice brew. Pint at the Brewpub.

On tap at the Durham WBF. Funny, I have been to the brewpub several times, and use a pair of their shaker glasses regularly, but I rate from a sample at a fest in NC... anyway, clear gold with a white head. Citrusy grapefruit nose, some orange and light grass. Medium body, nice lace. Light, sweet caramel is almost overwhelmed by the rich grapefruit, but not quite. Mildly dry grapefruit finish lingers. Very good!

4 oz. sampler. Pours a deep amber with average sized off-white head. Nice floral aroma dominates the nosefeel. Mouthfeel is a bit hoppy with citrus notes. Nice beer.
