Jan 2, 2004 Updated: Feb 12, 2007Draft... This beer rocks!... Sparkling clear, ruby ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Brussels lacing.
Vanilla, milk chocolate, alcohol, smoke and coffee in the aroma and flavor.
Full-bodied with a very creamy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Medium-length, bittersweet, dry finish. Excellent beer!

Mar 14, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Deep chocolate and roastiness lavish attention on the blackberry fruitiness within. A few love handles to hang on to, chewy malt complexity, and overall drinkability all cooperate to make this a very fine Porter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the brown-sleeved black gown.
-Supporting hops are felt in the back, agreeing with the friendly roastiness.
-Carbonation’s perfect to let the malts shine and ease quaffability.
-A delicious pint of Porter is always comforting.

Apr 7, 2004 Black color with tan head & lots of lacing. The aroma is smoky & roasted with fig and some dark fruit (cardamom?) the flavor is well balanced but very fruity & slightly weak & watery in the finish.
