Tasted at the 2008 Bistro Wet Hop Festival 10/4/2008. This pale lager pours a light to medium gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal and grainy with a touch of herbal hops. A medium bodied lager(?). The malts are cereal and grain. Hops are herbal and citrusy. Nice balance. Smooth lively carbonation. Lots of flavor for a lager. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Tap @ O’Brien’s. Pours a mostly clear medium amber with a small off white head. Light herbal hops on the nose with a grainy and resiny flavor, ok.

I hate being ’’that guy’’ but this beer was not good. Pours clear bronze with a short white head. Sweet bready aroma with some grassy hops. Taste was foul. Nasty lagery corn that did not blend well with the spruce/pine oil of the hops. Low rating could be from the great APA, IPA, and others I had that preceded this, but due to what I tasted, I am reluctant to try this one again.

Update: Second tasting 10/31/08 on draft: deep amber color with fluffy off-white head. Deeper apricot and spruce tones, woody with citrus. Butter flavor absent (no diacetyl), peppery finish. On draft. Bright amber color with compact white head, and a bit of chill haze. Mineral and faint apricot aroma. Mild Buttered popcorn and grass/spruce flavors. Light bodied with dry finish.
