Wulfstan (433), California, USA Dec 10, 2007 On tap at Flavor, Santa Rosa. This is a very nice, tasty, hoppy lager. It is golden with a big, thick white head that lasts for a long time, slowly diminishing to a smaller, foamy head that leaves fairly good lacing. The aroma is malty grain, bread, somewhat sweet with definite piney hops lingering in the back. The taste is malty, bready, with some nut and a pronounced piney hop bitterness soon coming through to balance out the grain sweetness. It has a crisp finish and a long, nice grain/biscuit/nut aftertaste. It is refreshing and crisp, but flavourful, with some complexity, both a good lightly toasted malt and a piney hop bitterness being very prominent. The balance is nice. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA Jan 15, 2007 (from notes) pint is a hazy gold with a nice white head that laces nicely. aroma is both pleasant and complex - a bunch of different grainy and grassy notes from the malts, mixed with a wonderful herbal hop kick and some nice toasty notes. very nice flavor - interesting but drinkable - with a great interplay between the grains and the hops. finishes dry and not too bitter. great lager - easy to drink, but with a nice degree of complexity. fly (1231), austin, Tejas, USA Aug 22, 2005 Simple, but with nice body and fresh, zesty hop quality that had enough power to get past other beers sampled previously. Fresh from the source at Moonlight. jasonp (1423), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Aug 3, 2007 On tap at Flavor (restaurant in Santa Rosa). Pours deep golden (slightly darker shade of gold than the Reality Czech) - white head. Grain, light noble hop character in the nose. The overall taste has notes of grain, light caramel, grass and a light twinge of lemon. There is a hop presence but as you would expect not as prominent as with their BoPils. Very clean tasting. Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation level. Good lacing and head retention. Overall a very nice drinkin’ beer. Vac (2169), San Diego, California, USA Aug 29, 2007 On Tap @ Hamilton’s. Pours with a golden body topped by a medium thick, white head wtih lots of lacing. It’s bitter with a slight sweetness from the malt and a grassy hop note. Light bodied, crisp and dry.
